For my non-german-speaking friends...

I got several feedback that I should write my blog in english or spanish... the problem ist that my parents will probably get mad with me and I plan to keep my room at home for some more years (if not my whole life) so I decided - as far as I manage to maintain this discipline - to post from time to time in english or spanish. My first message to you, my friends:

Go learn german. :P

Well, apart from this technical problem, after a 20-hour-trip me and my friend Kathi arrived save and happy in Montevideo yesterday morning. Picked up by one of our new family members, Nico, with whom's family we'll be staying we arrived in our new temporary home, a lovely appartement. As Nico will be going to spend a year in Vienna :) we'll share the flat with his girlfriend. After tossing a coin for the best room, I lost and won a lovely but perilous room, in which I have to climb up a ladder and find my way through a porthole to get in and out of bed. :) I wonder how many drinks I can have to make it without any dangerous falls... But the family is more than great, even Pancha, the dog, and we already fell in love with them. After reading about the terrible cold temperatures in south america from home, we found ourselves positively surprised by sunny and somewhat warm 15 degrees. I was about to call the Uruguayos softies (thank god I didn't) as I nearly froze to death last night in my bed!! Fortunately we are in the middle of the uruguayan winter and looking forward to spring (in september it should already be a lot better)...
Today we found our way to university, which is only 20 min walking from home and spent the morning there with all the other international students. Interesting, nice and crazy people, mostly from Germany (woohooo...) US, Mexico, Spain... Seems as if this will be great fun! :)
Anyway, it is 4 pm here, and I guess Kathi and me will now go and try to find the way to the beach... B)
